QUESTION ONE
(a) (i) Explain the concepts of inductive and deductive approaches in teaching Physics. (2 marks)
(ii)State two limitations of inductive and deductive approaches as argued by Karl Popper (1934). (2 mark)
(b) Define the following terms used in relation to emerging issues in education
(i) integration (ii) infusion. (2 marks)
(c) State two limitations of demonstration as a method of teaching Physics. (2 marks)
(d) Inadequacy of teaching-learning resources is one of the major challenges of teaching. Explain three other major challenges associated with the teaching of Physics in schools. (6 marks)
(e) Improvisation is one remedy for inadequate teaching and learning resources in Physics, explain any four aspects of improvisation, giving a suitable example in each case. (8 marks)
(f) Identify the major risks associated with each of the following materials in a school Physics laboratory and explain how such risks can be minimized.
(i) Dry cells (ii) helical springs (iii) laboratory gas (iv) switches for
operating mains electricity, (8 marks)
