1. Critically argue for the need of comparative education in teacher training programmes in East Africa. (24marks)
2. Discuss:
a.Your understanding of the term "comparative education". (8marks)
b.The scope, aims and purpose of comparative education as a field of study in your country today. (16marks)
3.a) State 4 main phases in the historical development of comparative education based on major activities and characteristics of each phase. (8marks)
b.Elaborate on any one of the phases you have stated in (a) above. (16mks)

SECTION B: 23MARKS
4." Economic and geographical factors are major determinants of systems of education in the world." Discuss this statement using specific country examples. (23 marks)
5. Identify key educational features of the French educational system and show how they contribute to some of the challenges facing the system. (23marks)
6. The end of apartheid regime in South Africa marked a turning point in the education sector of the country.Discuss this statement citing 5 major educational reforms and their implications. (23marks)

7." The boy child is an endangered species in Kenya today." Discuss this statement giving relevant examples. (23marks)
8. To what extent has educational cooperation for development helped Africa? (23marks)
9. Assess the impact of ICT integration in teacher education and training programmes in the Third World. (23 marks)
