Each question carries 23 marks
1.
Define the terms "economics of Education and "human capital theory". In what ways have evolved to overlap with recently espoused "knowledge capital"? in the era of ICT?
2.
With relevant examples, provide compelling illustrations of the view that economics of education is understood as the application of economic tools of analysis to education sub- sector. Discuss differences and similarities between human capital theory and economics of education.

3.
With persuasive examples, demonstrate the view that poverty is experienced differently between men and women. Even so, why are human Capital externalities larger than those of men according to recent studies on Kenya Labour market?

4.
Demonstrate the importance of early child nutrition and academic achievement using compelling examples. What are the implications of your discussion on education enrolment policy with a view to attaining optimal levels of schooling.

5.
Discuss the reasons why governments do not entrust the distribution of education resources to be entirely determined by market forces.
