Clearly explain six important measures you would take to ensure children’s safety when handling Teaching/Learning materials in the classroom. (6 marks)

Every ECD class should have learning corners.
(a)
What is a learning corner in regards to material development? (2 marks)
(b)
State any four materials found in a home corner and explain their importancein an ECD class. (4 marks)
3.
Giving relevant examples for each, briefly describe the three types of teaching Aids that are used by ECD teachers. (6 marks)

Outline six strategies you can use to procure Teaching/Learning materials for pre-school children. (6 marks)
5.
Describe any three locally available materials you can use in teaching Mathematics in an ECD class.
SECTION B: ANSWER ANY TWO QUESTIONS IN THIS SECTION (40 MARKS)

State five outdoor fixed play equipments you would buy for your ECD centre. For each of this equipment, explain their importance in children’s development. (20 marks)

An ECD teacher training institute invites you to guide pre-school teacher trainees on how to develop materials suitable for teaching pre-school children. Using relevant illustrations present yourlecture notes. (20 marks)

You have been posted to head a newly established ECD centre in your rural area. Citing practical examples, clearly discuss the strategies you can use to mobilize ECD parents and the general community to help develop teaching/learning materials for children to use in this centre. (20 marks)
