1. (a) Explain how globalization affects the conditions of children and youth in development . within Kenya (12 marks)
(b) Define the terms below:

(c) Explain why we should rethink childhood in relation to children’s rights in Kenya today (8 marks)



2. Discuss the challenges to children’s rights accountability in relation to decentralization. . (20 marks)



3. Discuss the barriers to meaningful youth involvement in decision making and suggest remedies in the Kenyan context. (20 marks)



4. (a) Discuss briefly the benefits of adopting the right-based approaches to relief and development work in order to save children (12 marks)
(b) Explain what ‘child rights programming’ means (8 marks)



5. (a) Explain the overall human rights principles applicable to children in development as universally accepted (8 marks)
(b) The best interests of the child must be explicitly considered in all aspects of development cycle and by all development actors engaged with children. Explain.
