85 packets of 1 kg each

He repacked the rice into 5 kg packets. How many 5 kg packets did he get?

2. Wanjeri transported the following food items to the market:
3 bags of maize each weighing 114.6 kg
2 bags of potatoes each weighing 130 kg
3 bags of cabbage each weighing 126.2 kg
2 bags of carrots each weighing 137.7 kg.

What was the weight of the items in tonnes?

3. Three factories Buka, Sakono and Rama produce sugar in one hundred kilogram bags daily. Buka produces three times as much as Rama. Sakono produces two times as much as Rama. If Sakono produces 500 bags,how many tonnes altogether do the three factories produce daily?

4. Kiprono hired two mkokotenis to transport items in his kiosk in the market. Each mkokoteni carried the following items:

1 bag of onions weighing 141.7 kg
2 bags of fresh peas each weighing 51.3 kg
3 bags of green maize each weighing 114.6 kg

What was the total weight in kilograms of all the items transported?

5. An empty box weighed 2.5 kg. Kombe packed books in the box until the total weight was 9.5 kg. If each of the books weighed 250 g, how many books were packed?

6. A coffee berry consists of the pulp and the seed. A factory processed 150,000 kg of coffee berries in one day. If the weight of the pulp was 25% of the coffee berries, what was the total weight in tonnes of the seeds obtained?

7. A shopkeeper bought cooking fat in 30 one kilogram packets and 20 five hundred gram packets. She repacked the fat in packets of 125 g each. How many packets did she get?

8. A company sold 2.5 tonnes of rice in 2 kg packets. How many packets were sold?

9. A bag of sugar weighed 108.5 kg. Mwangi bought 16 bags. He then removed 0.3 kg of sugar from each bag. What total weight in kgs of sugar remained?

10. A lorry weighs 3,500 kg when empty and 7,250 kg when carrying 50 bags of coffee. What is the average weight of each bag in kilograms?

11. An empty carton weighs 1.4 kg. 80 books were packed in the carton. If one book weighs 350 g, what is the weight in kilograms of the carton and books?

12. A lorry is carrying 80 cartons each containing 50 tins. If each tin weighs 400 g, what is the total weight in tonnes of the tins?
