Question 1
It is desired to mix 93kg of a component with 5kg of another in such a way that they are well distributed in each other. After a time interval of 5 minutes of mixing, samples of the mixture were taken and tested for one of the components. The following data was obtained as a percentage ;
0.0,16.5,3.2,2.2,12.6,9.6,0.2,4.6,0.5,8.5
And after 10 minutes of mixing ;
3.4,8.3,7.2,6.0,4.3,5.2,6.7,2.6,4.3,2.0
Calculate :
i. The initial variance
ii. The fractional composition of this components in the mass of the time sampling
iii. The random variance
iv. The mixing index
v. The time the mixing process will require to attain a mixing degree of 0.02 and now assuming that the number of particles in a sample is 30.
