Answer question ONE and any other TWO questions. Question ONE carries 30 marks
and each of the other questions carry 20 marks each.

Compulsory question (30 marks)

a)
You have been appointed as a project manager of a youth project in your constituency. Your task is to develop a youth project based on the needs of the your as the target group. Basing your discussion on the Baum cycle model, explain the phases/stages of the project cycle this particular project would go through until is completion. Use a relevant example to illustrate. (20 marks)
b)
Define the concept of ‘Project stakeholders’ and briefly describe FOUR stakeholders who you think would be involved in the project you have come up with in (1a). (10 marks)

Outline and discuss the benefits that a project manager can derive by adopting project management approaches and techniques (8 marks)

It is vital for a project manager and his/her team to have an understanding of the triple constraints concept for the success of any project. Discuss what this concept entails and using a relevant example to illustrate how the various components relate to/affect each other. (12 marks)
b)
Discuss FOUR main issues which you would take into consideration to make a fund raising event for a project you are working with successful. (8 marks)
4.
a)
The Gantt chart is a popular project scheduling tool. However it has disadvantages which can limit its use. Discuss with relevant examples to illustrate FOUR of these disadvantages. (12 marks)
b)
A feasibility study is an evaluation or analysis of potential impact of a proposed project. Outline and discuss reasons that necessitate such a study before the planning and formulation of a project. (8 marks)
