Q1. a) Discuss five Principles of Ethical Communication. (10 Marks)

b) Discuss three Ethical Frameworks. (10 marks)

c) “The Commitment to truth is perhaps the most ancient and revered ethical principle of human civilization”. With this in mind, explain the importance of truth in human communication. (10 marks)

Q2. a) Invasion of privacy can be unethical and illegal in some instances. Give any justifications that a Journalist may have in invading a person’s privacy. (10 marks)

b) The public right to know at times demands that Journalists have to disclose their sources. Kindly discuss: (i) scenarios in which a journalist may keep their sources in confidence and (ii) the justifications. (10 marks)

Q3.a) Explain how the Media may potentially influence anti-social behavior. (10 marks)

b) Minors and such vulnerable members of the society need to be protected from potentially harmful and or offensive content. Discuss how this may be achieved citing such offensive content. (10 marks)

Q4. a) Media may create, enhance or affirm existing societal stereotypes.What is
the role of these and in what ways can they be seen to be unethical. (10 marks)

b) The Media of communication should also serve as tools of social justice.
i) Discuss how this may be applied
ii) What are the ethical issues that may arise if the media do not play this role?
