a)All countries population can be classified into one of four major age population structures based on their progression through the demographic transition. This is the decade’s long shift that many countries have followed from high mortality and fertility rates to longer life expectancies and later to smaller families. Identify four age population structures and clearly explain how they impact on development of a country. [10 marks]

In what ways do natural disasters affect population patterns and trends in the society?

Women in Kenya face more severe legal regulatory and administrative barriers when starting businesses
than do their male counterparts. Reducing these would therefore disproportionately benefit women.
Explain ways in which these developmental barriers can be mitigated. [15 marks]
