(d) Name the functions associated with “abdominal press” in vertebrates. (8 marks)

2. (a) Describe the structure of the trachea in a typical mammal. (6 marks)

(b) (i) Name the laryngeal cartilages (6marks)

(ii) Describe the location of the cartilages in relation to each other. (8 marks)


3. Describe (generally) the double circulatory system of an amphibian. (20 marks)

5. Name the different broad areas of the vertebrate nervous system, and their constituent parts.
Discuss the comparative distribution of the pallium in vertebrates. (20 marks)
