c) State the natural habitats of lactic acid producing bacteria [4marks]

d) Explain the importance of Lactobacillus in human health. [4marks]


2. a) i) Draw the respiration chain of Paracoccus. [4marks]

ii) State the types of respiration for this bacterium. [1mark]

b) Write the reactions of hydrogen and electron transfer in the respiration
chain of Paracoccus. [11marks]

c) Indicate the sites of the formation of ATP in the above respiration

d) What is the metabolic advantage of interconversion of NADH and
