In Section A Question one is compulsory and carries 30 marks.
The rest of the questions in section B are 20 marks each. Answer any Two in this section.
SECTION A: 30 MARKS
1. (a) Using examples explain what Home Economics as an area of study.
(4 marks)
(b) State six roles of the teacher during a lesson. (3 marks)
(c) Explain four challenges you are likely to encounter during any lesson in regards to class control. (4 marks)
(d) Using the Bloom’s taxonomy below select a content area in Home Science and write an objective for each level: (8 marks)
(i) Cognitive
(ii) Affective
(iii) Psychomotor

(e) Learning/Teaching resources contribute to the achievement of set objectives. Briefly explain any four factors to look for when evaluating a learning/teaching resource. (8 marks)
(f) Outline three uses of a scheme of work. (4 marks)
SECTION B: 40 MARKS
2. (a) You are preparing to teach a practical lesson on cleaning the house. Discuss five factors that you would bear in mind to make as you prepare for the practical lesson. (15 marks)
(b) List five characteristics of a good scheme of work. (5 marks)
3. Teaching and learning aids are important in achieving any set objectives.
(a) Explain how you would use any three learning aids in teaching laundry work. (15 marks)
(b) Outline five purposes of assessment. (5 marks)
4. Your Head of Department has asked you to assist in setting the end of term Home Science examination. With examples, discuss five factors you will consider to ensure you set a valid test. (20 marks)
