QUESTION ONE:

a) The scientific approach is grouped on a set of basic assumptions that are unproven and
improvable but these fundamentals premises are necessary prerequisites for the conduct
of scientific disclosure (Nachmias and Nachmias, 1996). Two of these are provided
below.Discus and examine these assumptions to help shed more light on the scientific
approach and its claim of superiority over other approaches to knowledge.
i. Nature is orderly (4 marks)

ii. All natural phenomena have natural causes. (4 marks)

iii. We can know nature. (4 marks)

iv Scientific knowledge is not self-evident. (4 marks)


b) What is digital technology? Explain how a digital computer is able to apply the principles
of micro economics when digitizing information, pictures, etc during our day-to-day
challenges in information and communications technology. (4 marks)

"A theory which is not refutable by any conceivable event is non-scientific.
Irrefutable is not a virtue of a theory (as people often think) but a vice". Explain and
discuss.

a) Give a brief outline of Kuhn's Model of scientific change. (10 marks)

b)What is the criterion for demarcating mature from immature? (5 marks)

c)Why was Kuhn accused of relativism. (5 marks)

a) Discuss in detail the differences between Genetically Modified Organisms and
Micro-propagation. (10 marks)

b)Discuss agroforestry and mechanization as advised in agricultural science and technology.
