Individualism encourages selfishness which make some people unwilling to share their wealth through marriage.
Desire to pursue further studies.
Demands of some careers discourage some people from marriage and family responsibilities.
Some are discouraged by failing marriages which are common nowadays.
Some claim they cannot find the right partners.
Practice of cohabiting discourages proper marriages.
Health problems/conditions sometimes prevent people from marrying such as the terminally ill.
Religious reasons, such as celibacy, may lead to singlehood.
Lack of proper guidance regarding the value of marriage.
