Dan traveled from two towns A and B which are 50 km apart. He used a bike at a speed of 20 km/h for 1 ½ hours and then walked for the remaining distance at speed of 2 km/h. Find average speed for the journey.

Total distance = 50 km
Distance travelled using the bike =(20 x 3/2) km
= 30 km
Remain distance = (50 – 30)km
=20 km
Time taken =1 ½ + (20/2)
= 11 ½ hrs
Average speed = 50 /(11 ½ )
= 4.35 km /h
