Jane usually takes 3 hours to walk from home to her work place, a distance of 9 km on one Monday she spent 10 minutes in a shop on her way to work after walking for 30 minutes. At what average speed should she walk to reach on time.

Express speed = distance /time
= 9/3 km/h
= 3km/h
Distance covered 30 minutes
= 3 x (30/60)
=1.5 km
Time taken = 3hr
Hence 3 = ½ +((9-1.5)/x) + 10/60
X= 7.5 /2.33 km/h
X = 3.2143 km/h
