The trade was between the Arabs( mainly) and East African Coast. The trade involved the exchange of goods from coast such as slaves, coconuts with foods from outside world such as guns,clothes. The traders traveled to East African Coast using boats following the monsoon winds as the propeller. The transaction was carried in major markets of Kilwa and Sofar. They used various routes established along the Indian Ocean. The trade silent method trade but later currency was introduced.
