State the difference between an ideal and real gas

An ideal is one that obeys all the gas laws accurately at all conditions of temperature and pressure while a real gas does not obety all gas laws . An ideal gas is one in which the molecules are completely free from each other, no forces of attraction between the molecules themselves occupy negligible volume.

Distinguish between real gases and ideal gases

1.Ideal gas has no definite volume while real gas has definite volume.
2.Ideal gas has no mass while real gas has mass.
3.There is elasticity in collision of ideal gas particles while no elasticity in collision of real gas particles.
4.During collision of particles in ideal gas, no energy is involved while collision of particles in real gas has attracting energy.
5.Pressure is high in ideal gas particles as compared to real gas particles.
6.Ideal gas follows the equation of PV=nRT while real gas follows the equation of (p+a/v2) (v-b)=nRT
