a. (4bx-4by+5ax-5ay)/(5a+3b) =[4b(x-y) +5a(x-y)]/(5a+3b
=[(4b+5a)(x-y)]/(5a+3b)
b. (4bx-4by+5ax-5ay)/2(x-y) =[4b(x-y) +5a(x-y)]/2(x-y)
=(4b+5a)(x-y)/2(x-y)
=(4b + 5a)/2
