-Winters are long and cold; This is because of the apparent movement of the sun.
-Winter temperature are very low; This is due to the effect of polar continental air masses, which in winter are stable and cold
-Summers are very short and cool; This is because the angle of the sun is oblique and the area being heated is large.
-The annual temperature ranges are great; This is because of the extreme temperature differences between summer and winter
-Precipitaion is low; This is because of the very low temperature which reduces the rate of evaporation hence there is very little moisture in the atmosphere
