i) S = ut + $\frac{1}{2}gt^2$

1.2 = 0 + $\frac{1}{2}$ x 10 x t2

t = 0.49 seconds

ii) S = ut $\rightarrow$ u = $\frac{S}{t}$

$\frac{2.5}{0.49}$ = 5.102 m/s
