1. Security.
Most people from rural areas migrate to urban areas where there is security, that is, police post and police stations are situated in urban areas.
2. Industrialization.
Most rural dwellers move to towns where there industries in search of jobs such as industrial area in Nairobi.
3. Government policy.
In case a mineral is noted in an area government displaces people from that area to another area such as a village which grows into an urban centre.
4. Better health facilities.
These include hospitals, whereby people may move to urban areas where there are many hospitals and of good condition compared to those in rural areas.
