Challenges Bantu faced in their migration
1. Attack by wild animals- as the Bantus migrated they passed in areas that were much inhabited by wild animals and thus rendered their lives in danger eg snakes.
2. Diseases – their migration was characterized by diseases in the sense that most areas were bushy and had a lot of tsetse flies and mosquitoes which caused diseases.
3. Bad weather – this was experienced especially in times of rains which affected their migration. In addition, in times of very cold weather affected them and especially their health.
4. Hostile communities- in the areas where they passed were occupied by other communities which could attack them and never welcomed them.
5. Rough terrains – in some areas there were no clear paths and they had to pass over poor terrains and this is a challenge which affected them
6. Lack of food or inadequate food- in some areas they could not find food and therefore this became a challenge especially to the children and women.
7. Language barrier- there was a language barrier between the Bantus and the communities they passed through.
8. Lack of water/ drought- in some areas there were no water and thus they could travel for long distances without water and this also led to death of their animals.
9. Lack of good leadership- there lacked better people who would lead them and direct them in their migration. This was mainly caused by the disunity among themselves
