A linear equation passing through point (4,0) makes an angle of 45° with the x-axis.
a) find the slope of the equation.
b) Determine the equation in the form of y=mx+C.

Answers

JOSEPH
a) slope/gradient,m = tan of the angle of the line with positive x-axis
tan (180-45) = tan 1350
= -1
b) equation in the form y =mx+c
taking point (4,0), x=4,y=0 and m=-1
therefore
0=1- × 4 +c
0+4 =c
Thus the equation ,
Y = -x +4
