1. Arteriosclerosis- it is the hardening of the arteries caused by deposition of various substances including calcium and cholesterol. This reduces blood supply to the major organs like the heart and the brain, eventually causing stroke and heart failure.
2. High blood pressure- caused by the narrowing of the blood vessels causing blood to move at an abnormally high pressure. Poor nutrition habits-excess salt and cholesterol intake also cause high blood pressure.
3. Thrombosis- this is the formation of a clot in the blood. The most common is the deep vein thrombosis, that affects veins in the legs and thighs.
4. Varicose veins- this is the retention of excess fluid at the legs mainly due to the failure of some valves to function properly.
