React copper fillings with a given amount of dilute sulphuric acid to form copper(ii)sulphate(aqueous). Then react the obtained solution with a soluble salt of chlorine(alcl3)by displacement reaction you obtain copper(ii)nitrate as a residue. Sieve the residue and leave it in a beaker overnight to obtain the crystals.
