Answers

John
Distance traveled by Hellina from 8 - 3.30 a.m.

= 64 x $\frac{1}{2}$ = 32 km

Distance between the

= 384 - 32 = 352 km

Time taken by Joyce to meet Hellima

= $\frac{352}{128}$ = 2$\frac{3}{4}$ hrs

Time they meet

= 8.30
2.45
= 11.15 am

b) Distance travelled by Joyce

64 x $\frac{11}{14}$ = 176 km

c) Distance travelled by Hellima from 8 - 10. 30 am

64 x 2 = 128 km

Distance between them

= 384 - (228 + 160)

= 384 - 288 = 96 km
