Two grades of coffee A and grade B costing sh 30 per kg and sh 24 to produce a mixture costing sh 26.40 per kg. Determine the ratio in which grade A and B were mixed

Answers

John
Let kg of grade A = x

Let kg of grade B = y

Cost of 1 kg of the mixture is

30x + 24y = 24.40

3.6x = 2.4y

36x = 24y

3x = 2y

Interchange the values

X = 2 and y = 3

The ratio is 2:3
