For a given set of data the variance is (2 + x) and the standard deviation is 1.5. Find the value of x

Answers

John
$\sqrt{variance}$ = standard deviation

$\sqrt{2 + x}$ = 1.5

Square both sides

2 + x = (1.5)2

2 + x = 2.25

x = 2.25 - 2; x = 0.25
