Jiggers are pests that feed on important nutrients required especially by the growing adolescent,this causes them to have stunted growth.
The adolescents are especially careful about their image especially in front of their peers,a jigger infection may cause them to have low self esteem then they will isolate themselves which can cause depression.
Jigger infections can cause other infections that weaken the adolecent's immune system.
Some may drop out of school because of the physical disability caused by a jigger infection.
