On entering Jerusalem Jesus wept because on rejecting him, the Jews would invite punishment upon themselves,as a result of that he foresaw the destruction of the temple by the Romans.
The Jews had failed to recognize their role in God's plan for salvation.
Jesus entered the temple and protested against the buying and selling in God's house and drove the traders out.
He condemned the priests who practiced social and racial discrimination in the temple,the prophets also practices hypocrisy, they all only cared for the outward splendor of the building but failed to practice true religion.
Jesus accused the traders of turning his father's house into a hideout of thieves.
