i) Organic accumulation- this process involves accumulation of decaying plant and animal matter on the ground.
The accumulated matter gradually breaks down into humus.
Humus is a major component of soil.
ii)
Eluviation- fine mineral particles are washed down mechanically from the upper layers of the soil into the middle or lower layers.
The particles are moved in suspension.
by water which percolates downwards.
Where water percolation is horizontal the materials move in the same layer.
