In a transformer the ratio of primary to secondary is 1:10. A current of 200mA flow through a 200 ohm resistor in the secondary circuit. Assuming that the transformer is 100% efficient, determine:
a. The secondary voltage.
b. The primary voltage.
c. The primary current.

a. The secondary voltage –
Vs = IsRs (Vs = secondary voltage, Is= secondary current, Rs= secondary Resistor)
Vs= 0.200 x 200
= 40V
b. The primary voltage
Np/Ns= Vp/Vs
Vp=(Np/Ns) x Vs
= (40 x 1)/10
=4 V
c. The primary current
Vp/Vs = Is/Ip
Ip = (VsxIs)/Vp
= (40x0.2)/4
=2A
