3. Political instigation – incitement by political leaders leads to civil wars.

4. Harassment by other communities incites their anger and thus leading to civil wars.

5. Lack of alternative sources of livelihood- maasai mostly engage in pastoralism and thus lack another another way to sustain themselves. This makes the to engage in civil wars to guard their source of livelihood.
