CONSEQUENCES OF SEMANTIC CHANGE
1. Restriction- situation where a word or phrase had a broad meaning then it narrows down to more specific meaning.
2. Extension- a word/phrase had a narrow narrow meaning, then the meaning is broadened to mean much more.
3. Amelioration- a word that meant something inferior now it means something better.
4. Perjoration- detorioration in the value of the meaning of word.
