1. Christians fear to swear falsely. The bible says the we should not swear falsely but perform to the Lord what we have sworn. Do not take an oath at all, either by heaven for it is the throne of God or by the earth, for it is His footstool. (Mat 5;33-37)

2. Christians believe that one should not swear but let your ‘yes’ be ‘yes’ and your ‘No’ be ‘No’ so that they do not fall under condemnation. (James 5;12)

3. Christians believe that the oath binds himself by a pledge, thus should do according to all that proceeds out of his mouth (Numbers 30;2)

4. If you delay in fulfilling the vow, you will be guilt of sin (Deut 23;21-23)

5. Oaths are ore mostly used to blind men, therefore they view oath as a lie. (mat 23;18-22)

6. Most people strain to keep the oaths especially in marriage

7. Oaths have physical consequences when not fulfilled

8. Christians believe that one should only take oaths by the Name of Lord when ONLY they are sure they are capable of fulfilling them.
