-Demand on the child - if too much demand is put on the child too soon, the child may develop shame/ doubt

-Parenting - too strict/ too permissive may result to doubt/ reluctance/ avoidance.

-Ridicule/ criticim - will prevent or bar any attempts by the child

-Freedom to do what they want - letting children do what they feel they know/ capable of will result for fear/ slow mastery of the environment/ learning.

-Limit room for maneuver - restricted power to engage in other activities inhibits ability to be independent/ a child may resolve to some form of obsessive behaviour.
