a) cost of 1kg of mixture.
The ratio 3+4+5 = 12kg.
The cost of a mixture of 12kg is Ksh.1020
1kg = 1020÷ 12 = Ksh.85 per kg.

b) selling price of 5kg of mixture with a profit of 8%.
1kg = Ksh. 85.
5kg = 85 × 5 = Ksh. 425.
They are selling at 8% profit.
Ksh. 425 is at 100%
With the profit it will be at 100% +8% (profit) = 108%
At 100% = Ksh.425
At 108% = ?
108× 425 ÷100 = Ksh. 459 for 5kg.
