The dead were buried in a carefully selected place in the ancestral place so that the spirit moves close to the family.
The body is placed in the grave facing a certain direction according to the customs of the people.
In some communities, the dead were properly dressed while in others they were buried naked since it was believed they would be reborn in the spirit world.
Libation was poured to the dead to accept the departed relatives.
Close relatives were shaved as a sign that one of their members had been separated from them and to cleanse impurities
