iv) Unavailability of food due to low rainfall and poor farming practices leading to poor yields
v) Infections e.g. intestinal worms, diarrhea etc that may lead to loss of appetite and thus malnutrition.
vi) Religious beliefs and taboos, e.g certain foods should not be eaten by certain groups of people.
vii) Body's inability to utilize nutrients: Sometimes the body does not absorb nutrients
x) poor methods of food preservation: methods used to preserve food may lead to lose of nutrients
xi) Wars and calamities: Leads to reduction in farming activities therefore yield are poor.

Poverty – this may be as a result of a lack of resources to obtain food. People who lack resources to obtain food supplies may end up suffering from various malnutrition deficiency diseases.
The body inability to utilize certain nutrients-this is where a certain nutrient is not absorbed in the body.
Parasite- the infestation of worms and malarial parasites reduces the amount of nutrients available to the body such as iron and vitamin B12 leading to anemia.
Food taboos- food taboos, superstitions, and religious beliefs may lead to the prohibition of such eating certain foods.
Corruption – corrupt individuals grab and hoard resources such as food and land, this may result to unequal distribution of resources and affects food production.
Lifestyle- modern change of lifestyle may lead to an increased intake of certain nutrients, which may lead to diseases such as obesity, gout, diabetes and hypertension.
