Jaramogi is considered the father of opposition basically because he was the first person to become vocal in opposing the then KANU government which took power after independence. Jaramogi started opposing the KANU government after the murder of Pio Gama Pinto in 1965.He later formed the first opposition party after independence(Kenya Peoples Party)in 1966.for this reason it can be said that he is the father of opposition.
