1. Use of pesticides: Use of excess chemicals to control pests and diseases on the farm seep into the soil and end up in water source through soil erosion.

2. Poor disposal of farm chemical: washing of spray equipment in rivers, wells, dams and streams causes direct pollution of water.

3. Use of fertilizer: excess application of fertilizer result to high residue of the fertilizer chemicals in the soil when it rains the residue get into water bodies through soil erosion.

4. Poor farming practices: Some cultivation, encourage soil erosion which result to siltation of water bodies.
