The field is cleared.

The plant is propagated from seeds which are grown to a few centimeters.

They are transplanted into the cleared forest lands.

The trees are planted in rows three metres apart.

Some trees are grown from cuttings which are planted directly into the cleared forest land.

Pruning is not done.

Occasional weeding and manuring is done to improve the quality of the beans.

The trees are sprayed to protect them from fungi and insect pests.

Fruiting begins after five years.

Adequate production is after ten years.

After 35 years production declines and trees have to be cut down when it is lowest.
