Describe the formation of a bay bar

Answers

Faith
A bay bar forms across the entrance of a bay, harbour or river mouth. It starts off as a spit which develops right across the entrance of the sea inlet forming a barrier. The barrier is the bay bar. The bay may be submerged at high tide but exposed at low tide. It encloses an area of calm water within the bay known as a lagoon. The water is calm because the strong waves break in the bar.
