Describe the formation of a cuspate foreland

It is formed where two spits grow towards each other at an angle. The feature becomes wider as more materials are added up to form beach ridges. Eventually the lows are filled in and the enclosed lagoon slowly filled up with sediments. The growth of spits on both sides is due to seasonal change in the direction of winds. This causes a change in the way the waves approach the shore. Due to the change in the wind direction, the effects of longshore drift also change seasonally. A cuspate foreland could also form where waves converge.
