The atmosphere has an ozone layer which protects the earth's surface from excessive ultraviolet rays from the sun.
-Chlorine from chemicals such as Chlorofluorocarbons that were used for refrigeration, air conditioner, fire extinguishers and aerosols cause damage to the ozone layer.
-This is where chlorine from chlorofluorocarbons reacts with ozone dissociating it into oxygen.
-This reduces the amount of ozone layer thus allowing entry of U.V rays entering the earth's surface.
-As a result ozone depletion occurs.
OZONE DEPLETION EFFECTS.
