Computer network consist of group of computers connected together and other peripherals.examples of computer networks are local area networks,metropolitan area networks ,local area networks,wireless local area network,wide area network and value added network.
(1) LOCAL AREA NETWORKS
It is a network which cover a small geographical area and the computers are connected to eavh other via copper cabling.such network links computers in one building such as school.
(2) WIRELESS LOCAL AREA NETWORK
It is a network that covers small geographicall area bbut computers are connected wirelessly.it uses high frequency radio signals
(3) METROPOLITAN AREA NETWORK
It is the interconnections of local area networks across a large geographical area such as city.
(4) WIDE AREA NETWORKS
It is a network that connects computers across a larger geographical area like a country
(5) VALUE-ADDED NETWORK
Network using communication services of other commercial carriers
