The Christian were advantageous as they brought civilization to East Africa with their education systems. The introduction of Christianity allowed the economic advancement of products from the region till date where trade could now be done with Europeans as well as the Arabs. Christianity allowed the unification of African cultures and religion where through education African s could share a common belief and a similar language. Christianity allowed eradicating savage ways of life such as cannibalism and human sacrifice and allowed them to live more sustainable lives. It led to the introduction of new species of crops such as tea and coffee and exploitation of resources such as ivory and minerals.
The main disadvantage of Christianity was diluting the African native cultures, this destroyed the Africans usual way of life. our means of governance was as justified as the European form of governance thus destroying the chain of developing this systems to perfection. the christian missionaries open doors for traders who contributed yo slave trade in the region. the also allowed the coming of colonial powers which led to a lot of chaos in the region who grabbed African lands and forced them into labor. Alot of missionaries where not accepted in the region and faced persecution together with any of their collaborators, for instance it led to the massacre in Uganda by Kabaka.
