Moses was a teacher('rabbenu') to the Israelites and tought them the nature and ways of Jehovah their God. He is seen as an important prophet in Judaism as he was a medium where the Lord could work and talk through him. He showed the Israelites God's power increasing their faith in Jehovah at their time of need. Moses delivered the israelites from a bad situation by saving them from slavery. He was an advocate against the suffering of his people and went to the Egyptian king to ask for their release. He was not eloquent but led them out of Egypt after negotiations with the King. He led the Exodus where he did many miracles to save his people like parting of the red sea and feeding them with Quals and Manna. Through Moses the Israelites got the 10 commandments a code of life to follow in order to be within God's grace. The 10 commandments are a universal foundation of laws and all things. The Israelites got to reach the promised land through the wilderness by Moses leadership and Guidance. He assisted them in battles and in cases of hunger thus making him a pillar for the Israelite community.
